As promised we've got an exclusive site update this week, I've just got back from spending three fantastic days in Monza were Mauro Pane and the F1 Storiche Team where contesting round three of the Thoroughbred Grand Prix Championship. It was a great weekend and Mauro the team gave up some of their busy time to talk to me about the car and allowed me access to their pit and garage for some great pictures. Mauro stared the race in 6th position and moved up into third by the end of the 1st lap, by lap 2 he was running 2nd and chasing for the lead, unfortunately an incident on lap three took the six wheeler out of the race, I'll post an update when I get clarification on what happened. You can view all the pictures in the gallery, All those who are waiting to here about out little secret project will have to wait just a little bit longer, I'll be working on some pages to explain all this week and should have them up soon. Cheers - Jay |

Great news, we're off racing at Monza this weekend and will hopefully have access to the Italian teams P34 (see below) where I hope to be able to get some great pictures and interviews with the driver and team. I don't know if any of the regular visitors have been able to find much about this new TGP team & car but I for one haven't hence this trip. This little trip will hopefully also lead to some final planning on our secret project which if all goes well this weekend I will be announcing soon after my return. Cheers - Jay |

| 26th April 2003 | P34 in the 2003 TGP |
Posted 14:50 - Jay |
|
On April 11th-13th the first race of the 2003 TGP season took place at Jarama in Spain. This race was the first outing for Mauro Pane and P34 chassis Number 5 now owned by Piero Ratti. Mauro qualified the six wheeler in 5th position and managed to get up to 3rd in the race before a Spark Plug failed and the car had to retire from the race. Despite failing to finish its looking good, I predict that Mauro and his P34 will have great success in the year, We're hoping to get some photos of the restored car soon and I'll keep you updated on its progress throughout the Year. |

| 30th March 2003 | 2003 TGP Info |
Posted 15:00 - Jay |
|
Well It's official ..
I had the pleasure of
talking to Martin Stretton this week who sadly confirmed that he would not
be driving Simon Bull's P34 in the 2003 TGP season, he did however confirm
that
Piero Ratti's
car would be contesting and will be driven by Mauro Pane. There is the chance that we will be at the first TGP race in Jarama where we hope to get an exclusive interview with the team and photos of the car.
I keep you posted on how
that develops -

Posted 23:00 - Jay |
|
Perran and all the guys at SBDT are progressing nicely with the 1977 F1 Legends mod. This mod is going to be absolutely stunning, in addition to being able to drive the P34 six wheeler they are also hard at work recreating some of the great race tracks from the 1977 season :-) You can catch up on the latest developments here Jay |

| 16th March 2003 | Update - Driver Profiles |
Posted 22:30 - Jay |
|
|
I finally got the Driver Profiles started, and who else better to start with than Patrick Depailler, the master of the Six Wheel monster. A special mention goes to my friend Mik who spent a lot of time researching the P34 drivers and putting the info together for me. The Profiles on Jody Scheckter and Ronnie Petterson will follow soon ( I Promise), I should also have another video clip ready sometime this week. Talking of video clips, I've been looking at the quality of them, while they are quite good, I can get them better but at the cost of a bigger download, I'd like to know what people think on that, do you want more quality or less ?, please use the forum for feed-back on this. I've got a secret project in development (Very P34 related) and I need your feed back on this subject. Bye for Now - Jay |

| 2nd March 2003 | A Few Video Issues |
Posted 22:00 - Jay |

Bad News .. thanks to Alex, its been brought to my attention that the new 1976 videos on the site wont play using the DivX 5.0.2 codec. Unfortunately we just upgraded all our video production PC's to DivX 5.0.3 so I apologise to all of you. Unfortunately the only way to play them is to update your DivX codec to the latest version (click on the logo) sorry... Good News .. To make up for the inconvenience I've posted a new video clip taken from the ITV documentary of Ken Tyrrell, Its a great little montage of P34 1976 moments, download it on the Video Page. Enjoy - Jay |

| 23rd February 2003 | A Second Reborn P34 ! |
Posted 22:00 - Jay |
|
Details are still a little vague at the moment but it appears that another P34 has been restored and is to contest the 2003 FiA Thoroughbred Grand Prix Championship, the car is owned by Piero Ratti and will be raced this year by Mauro Pane. Unfortunately I'm not certain that we will see two P34's on the TPG grid this year as I have heard that Martin Stretton will not be contesting Simons Bull's P34 this year ( If any one can confirm this please let me know). You can be sure that I'll be following this story closely and will post updates and pictures as soon as I can. Cheers - Jay |

| 23rd February 2003 | Slightly off subject . . . |
Posted 22:00 - Jay |
|
I know this is slightly off subject but as we get a lot of retro F1 fans here I thought I'd mention that I'm helping to sell a piece of Genuine F1 History, this is one of Keke Rosberg's race helmets from his days at Williams F1 (1982-1985). The helmet is up for auction on E-bay, please click here or on the picture to link directly to the item. Happy Bidding - Jay (Auction now Finished 26/02/03) |

| 22nd February 2003 | 1976 Season Clips On-Line |
Posted 21:00 - Jay |
|
Firstly I'd like to thank everyone for visiting the site, over 6000 hits in a little over three months is amazing, I had no idea that this site was going to be so popular, it seems there are a lot more P34 Fans out there than I first thought. Secondly I'm pleased to announce that I've got three new on-board P34 clips up from the 1976 season and several new images in the P34 Picture Archive, the Driver Profiles are coming soon ( I promise) Cheers - Jay |

| 29th January 2003 | 1976 Gallery On-Line |
Posted 23:00 - Jay |
|
I've been real busy the last few weeks so site updates have been a little on the slow side, however, I've finally got the 1976 season review picture gallery on-line. Like the 77 gallery, these are a few select grabs from the fantastic 1976 season review which was aired by Motors TV last year (and repeated last week), I hope you enjoy them. There are one or two new pictures in the archive gallery too. I'm still working on the driver profiles which is taking a little longer than expected, I think the next site update will be some more onboard P34 video footage, I've almost got the avi's finished, I should have them up in a week or so. Cheers - Jay |

Obituary - Barry Foley 1936-2003 |
Posted 23:00 - Jay |
|
It is with deep regret that we must record the death of Barry Foley. Many of you may have been of been familiar with his work in the guise of the “Catchpole” strip cartoon that appeared in the Autosport magazine for some 679 issues. A gifted graphic artist Barry was also responsible for two of the seminal F1 liveries of all time. Namely the John Player Lotus and the Citibank Tyrrell P34 six wheeler, both of which became instant public and media icons. Indeed the Lotus is possibly amongst the most widely recognized images of the sport. To Barry’s family and friends we offer our most sincere wishes. |

| 19th January 2003 | Message Forum On-Line |
Posted 11:00 - Jay |
|

In response to all the Emails I've been receiving I've added a simple message forum to the site, It's no Ultimate Message Board but it should do the job for while. If it gets really popular then I'll change it for a more complex one. Cheers - Jay |

| 16th January 2003 | 1500+ HIts !!!! - THANK YOU |
Posted 23:00 - Jay |
|
Wow, I wasn't sure what sort of response this site was going to get, but I guess the fact that the hit counter has gone loopy in the last few weeks says it all, A BIG THANK YOU to all those people who have visited, and a special thank you to all those who have sent me emails, sorry I haven't been able to respond to all of them in person, I've really enjoyed reading them all, I never knew there were so many Tyrrell fans in so many countries. I will be implementing some of the suggestions in the next few weeks, I'm working on getting a guest book/message forum up and running ASAP so that everyone can share the retro F1 talk, The Driver profile's are coming along nicely and should be up in a week or so. Cheers - Jay |

| 4th January 2003 | 1978 Video Clips On-Line |
Posted 13:00 - Jay |
|
To get the new year of to a great start, we've posted something a little special for all you 1970's F1 fans. We've created several new avi files based on footage shot on-board cars during the 1978 F1 season. Whilst none are on-board the P34 (it didn't race in 1978) there are a few with Patrick Depailler driving the 008 (the P34's successor) so there is a connection and that's a good enough excuse for us to share this great footage with you. Enjoy - Jay |

| 1st January 2003 | Major Site Update |
Posted 14:00 - Jay |
|
Happy New Year Everyone . .. As promised I spent most of the xmas break reading up on the history of this amazing car and have finally finished the history section for the site. I'm quite happy with the result, and I believe it to be the most concise version available on the internet but if there is anything you think I've missed out, don't agree with or not made clear let me know and I'll correct it. Special thanks to Ari for proof reading it and correcting a few historical inaccuracies. I've also added another gallery to the Pictures section and made some cosmetic changes to the overall site - Jay |

| 12th December 2002 | P34 might be in SBDT 1977 Mod |
Posted 23:00 - Jay |
|
|
There is a rumour that the Tyrrell P34 might be included in the 1977 mod currently in development by the SBDT team. If you don't know what I'm talking about then check out the full 1977 Mod post on the Simbin Forum, These guys are the best motor sport mod'ers on the PC Racing scene, if you like GT racing then I can fully recommend their recently launched GT Racing 2002 mod which is by far the best GT Car simulation available on the PC. The Picture on the left is an early shot of the P34 3D Model which Perran tells me is only 30% complete - (Click on the Picture to link directly to Perran's post) The possibility that we might be able to drive this great piece of F1 history against the likes of the Ferrari 312 and Lotus 78 is truly wonderful, hopefully it wont suffer the problems with the front tyres that the original did :-) Jay |

Hello everyone, I've only just started to put this site together so there is not too much to see just yet. The site was started in response to the interest shown by people to a small DivX video we put together which showed the Tyrrell P34 in action in Africa and Monaco during the 1977 F1 Season. This site will primarily focus on the P34 however, I hope that we will be able to cover the March and Williams machines in the future, we have access to a large library of motor sports information including books, videos and photographs so we'll see how things go. In response to the success of the P34 video, I also hope to be putting up some more on-board footage from the late 70's although this wont necessary have been filmed on-board these radical machines. Thanks for checking up on the site and be sure to come back soon and view the sites progress, if there is anything you would like to see, or if you would like to contribute to the site then please contact us using email button on the menu. Cheers - Jay |
