Project 34 News

May 2007 Project-34 Forum pulled ...  for now

PROJECT-34
FORUM
OFF-LINE

Due to uncontrollable spamming of the forum, and a number of very upsetting emails from loyal supporters we have had to take the forum off-line. Its a shame that the Internet is riddled with such unscrupulous morons who have nothing better to do than write software systems that upset and annoy the majority of users.

I apologise to everyone for the foul spamming of the forum, something I hope you understand is out of my control.  I have in the past updated the php code with various updates in an effort to beat the spam bots (see 4th June 2006 News), but in seems to be a never ending battle for which I just don't have time for. I will endeavour to
research alternative forum software.

 4th June 2006 P-34 Message Forum back on-line

Posted 22:00 - Jay

The Project 34 message forum is now back on-line, the old forum had become so infected with spam it was impossible to repair it completely. So we’ve updated the forum software and security to ensure that it wont happen in the future.

This unfortunately means that existing users will have to re-register. The forum has a nice fresh look I hope that this forum will continue to be the best discussion ground for all of us interested in this unique car.

28th May 2006 30 Years of Six Wheeling .. and still going strong.

Posted 22:15 - Jay

This Year marks the 30th anniversary of the P34 and what better weekend than the Monaco Grand Prix to remember that fact.

30 years ago the Tyrrall P34's of Jody Scheckter (Car #3) and  Patrick Depailler (Car #4) drove to finish on the podium in 2nd and 3rd place.

Last weekend, saw the 5th Grand Prix de Monaco Historique take place at the famous road circuit and history repeated its-self with two P34's driven by Martin Stretton (Car #4) and Mauro Pane (Car #10) finishing on the podium !!

Martin Stretton won the 15 lap race in with a time of  30:22.44 while Mauro Pane finished in 3rd place with a gap of 1.894 seconds, just 250 thousands of a second behind Simon Hadfield in his PENSKE PC3 in 2nd place.

A most fitting tribute for the 30th anniversary of this amazing car I'm sure you will all agree.

You can find out more information on the race ( Race G ) and view some great pictures at the official Automobile Club de Monaco website :-

19th May 2006 Technical Drawing of P34 Available Soon

Posted 20:00 - Jay

Hi Everybody,

Those of you who have visited before will know that its been a very very long time since the site was updated. I'd love to keep updating the site on a regular basis but other commitments have unfortunately got in the way. Running my own media company in my spare time and working for a Historic Sports Car team means that there is very little time left to devote to Project 34. I will do my best to try and keep some sort of updates going this year. As for the Movie Project I'm afraid that its stalled big time, at least for the immediate future. Unfortunately due to a number of reasons the colleges who were assisting me in the project were unable to devote enough time to really get the project off the ground. Its not dead ... just waiting for the right moment.

Over that last six months the site and myself have been assisting the amazingly talented Tony Cairoli to produce a Technical Drawing of our favourite six wheeled wonder. The end result is simply amazing, something that anyone who is a fan of the car would be proud to own.

The Drawing measures approx 640 x 520 mm and is printed on the highest quality pure white card. I was lucky enough to receive one of the first production prints from Tony which now hangs proudly on my lounge wall and looks fantastic.

The print should be available soon, we'll post again soon and tell you how you can get one for yourself, In the meantime check out the photos ( which really don't do the print Justice )

Cheers - Jay
