Some background to the work, written by Tony Cairoli :-

"I had planned to draw the P34 in 1998, however after some preliminary research I felt more study was needed to do a good job. I wanted to be as accurate as possible, and give as much detail as I could. Instead I drew the Tyrrell 003 of Jackie Stewart. Although a basic car it was important in that it won Tyrrell's only constructors title.

After the death of Ken Tyrrell, I read his biography and other books on him and his cars. I was very interested in the chapters on the six wheeler, it gave me the inspiration to look into the car further.

I started to piece it all together like a puzzle. I also looked at previous Tyrrells and read about Derek Gardner to try and understand his theories behind this car. When I felt comfortable in that I had a good knowledge of how the P34 worked, I began to draw the car at the beginning of September of 2005. It was completed with help from www.project34.co.uk in February 2006.

The car was drawn at 25% scale for accuracy on drafting mylar using technical drawing pens.

Of all the cars I have researched and drawn the P34 was the most enjoyable, and I am very happy with the final result."
